Round The Island Race 2011

I am so excited to share that I finished the race and we came in the TOP 20% out of 1908 Boats that finished. Here we are on left sailing past Hurst Castle at full speed!!!
It was very tough, must confess, especially with the weather, tidal challenges and very early start! However, this not a problem for my expert teacher Matthew Fordham from Sailing Ventures in Lymington. Matthew was our Skipper aboard Flame with a crew of 7. He continued my training through out the race along with other fantastic crew members that all helped me when I was finding things difficult. Thanks so much. Not bad for a lady that has been diagnosed with MS for over 17 years and had only 2 training sessions aboard flame. Roll on my next Sail with Sailing Ventures, after some serious rest!!!

A Special Royal Berkshire CMA Event in Windsor

On Saturday the 14th of May the Berkshire group from The Constitutional Monarchy Association (CMA) held an exciting Charity Event at the newly refurbished Windsor Guildhall. Over 90 guests attended from all over the country to visit and learn about the history of the special building, celebrate the recent Royal Wedding of William to Kate and support local charities.
The CMA independent from any political party aims to unite support for The British Monarchy and promote education for greater awareness. See www.monarchy.net for further information about the CMA.
Prince Mohsin Ali Khan of Hyderab and the CMA council also brought a special guest Princess Katarina to really help raise funds. The foundation an independent charity that provides grants to help local Berkshire support groups make a positive difference to peoples lives.

Councillor Leo Walters a past Major from Windsor & Maidenhead and supporter of the CMA assisted Kaz Aston to raise awareness about The Berkshire Community Foundation, WI & Multiple Sclerosis.
Dr Barry Twigg with other CMA colleagues gave useful information about the Guildhall while also sharing latest news about the recent Royal Wedding.
Thanks to the fantastic Guildhall caterer Fiona Sail we were also able to enjoy William & Kate style wedding cakes and make a special toast the Royal Couple in this amazing Windsor venue.

Canadian Royal Wedding Celebrations

To enable Canadians to share the excitement of the marriage of Prince William to Kate, the newly anointed Duchess of Cambridge, I gave a live interview for Canadian TV to support the CMA (See www.Monarchy.net). The CMA a superb organisation, I must share.
Located on the Duke of York Steps (off the Mall)in London I shared my excitement. We talked about the atmosphere of the big day in London. With huge crowds lining the streets of London The time difference did not dampen the excitement of this commonwealth country, one of 16 countries where the Queen is head of State and Prince William will be one day.
