Issue 45:  November 2017

Master's Message:  Sea Cadets – our (disarming) military force...
My first representative task as Master, three days after my Installation, was to attend the Sea Cadets’ Trafalgar Day Parade – in Trafalgar Square. A chilly but occasionally sunny Sunday Morning set in the shadow of Nelsons Column. There is another shadow - that  of imperialism and triumphalism. On such an occasion celebrating victory over the French 212 years ago may be considered inappropriate by some today - but the training and development of young people as they demonstrated with such discipline and enthusiasm overshadows such ‘modern’ considerations. It was really good to see the transformation in life chances of young people that is being achieved.
In August I represented our previous Master at the Sea Cadets national band competition held  at the Tower of London (where I met the deputy Governor, which could be helpful should I be incarcerated in the coming year). In December I hope to present the Satjit Cup (donated by our current Treasurer) which is awarded to their top Cadet annually.
Every Livery Company is expected to support one or more element of our defence forces – doubtless originating in the days when the Livery supported the City militia and the expeditions of various Kings & Queens - and our early decision to support the Sea Cadets was inspired. Past Master Broomhead is to be thanked for the part he played in arranging this, and for acting as our liaison with them ever since.
Over the years we have made relatively small financial contributions to them to encourage  achievement and provide training equipment, and to support the Sea Cadets' entry into the Lord Mayor's Show. In return we are kept involved with a vibrant group of young people, who sailed T.S Royalist to victory in the Tall Ships race and stand with discipline as our carpet guard at many a formal function.
They also make our presence in the Lord Mayor's Show possible. This has been (after the Installation Dinner) the highlight of my year to date. Some may question the importance of our involvement in this event, but it is integral to the civic City and an engagement that links every Livery Company with a common heritage over many centuries. This year we exceptionally had 31 seconds of BBC TV coverage! Really an opportunity no Liveryman should miss.  [See article "Breakfast at Barbican" for the YouTube link!]
Our new Lord Mayor is supporting the Centenary of the RAF in his year, and has set a challenge to increase the attachments of Livery Companies with RAF companies from the present 55 to 100 (the Century) -  and it is something we will doubtless discuss as a Company; but we must cherish our association with the London Region Sea Cadets. Long may it continue.

#2017 #Monarchyonline Route Dolomites #SuperCarGB

CMA Berkshire group Latest 2017 Charity News

For continued enjoyment of the summer of 2017, the Berkshire group chair Kaz Aston & HRH Princess Katarina of Serbia entered #SuperCarGB 2017 for the Berkshire CMA Group. This exclusive event organised with Autumn & Peter Phillips to drive with an all female charity CMA team, with a royal team member.
Firstly, we must thank again HRH Princess Katarina of Serbia for enabling the all girls team to enter and succeed on this mission, Supercar GB 2017- Route Dolomites.  The charity drive in total covered over three thousand miles through six countries, in only 5 days and visited France, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Croatia on our incredible dolomites route.
The team also very fortunate, thanks to W1PR.com sponsorship, to hire a special Audi R8 Supercar from London company, Hertz Dream Collection. So the CMA team felt absolutely delighted to complete the Dolomites in a British registered supercar and also support UK businesses, as part of the project. Consequently, the CMA team have helped two global education charities and enjoyed an absolutely amazing, fun summer in Berkshire, London and six European countries.
The Berkshire group continues to hold fun, colourful and charitable events with clear Royal links to promote education and a better understanding of the Monarchy in today’s society. Our next event is planned for the evening of November the 9th, in Kensington London. Here, the group will recognise and give awards to inspirational females nominated by the general public for, exceptional contributions to society.
For further information about the event or group meetings please contact group chair: Miss Karen Aston on 07768904878 or email: misskaston@gmail.com

W1PR Reports to Help #Education in the #UK #Fun is Also a must!

As part of the W1PR company vision for public relations education now also want to share some great resources available to you, that can also offer new educational and fun social events. To get the balance right right with any company education plans W1PR.com also suggests to mix events and community fund raising that many attendees have shared as being "good fun with a real purpose to learn & share with new and existing contacts".
The W1PR Team are also delighted from working with diverse professional groups and even countries, for over 20 years to have learnt that the addition of fun activities actually frequently delivers, more memorable moments with even better Team performance.
Consequently, it has also been reported in various consumer surveys that W1PR.com can also get the best out of social Team events with very positive company PR in the UK press and on social media, world wide and in local communities. Such PR is really helpful to our clients and even their clients in the short, medium and longer term with happy consumer feed back across the industry.
For two of our clients in particular the notion of happy customers is very important along side normal website visits and event promotion to really enable annual pro-bono charity support of over 1 million British pounds and facilitation of education in UK and global business networks.
So please think differently about such a suggestion having merit and functionality for today's business markets for #PR & #Education.

Super Cars 4 Girls 4 MS & 4 Stroke Charities

First Ever All Female Team completes #SuperCarGB 2017 & Raises Global Awareness for people affected by MS & Stroke
As part of the 2017 public engagement agenda for global education charity, Monarchyonline.org, that help thousands of people learn more about today’s Monarchy, have launched a brand new, SuperCar, all Female driving team as the charity also recognises the amazing contributions made by females for the good of the people and to promote education.
Following various www.monarchyonline.org educational events from January to August 2017, aimed at helping the public learn more about the monarchy, the charity are now proud to share that the girls team successfully drove the full 2017 Route Dolomites drive.
The #SupercarGB 2017 event was superb especially, when two ladies drove an amazing Audi R8, V10 Spider that continuously gave top performance times and great comfort over the dolomites challenging roads.

However,  The primary purpose for the two female drivers was to raise awareness for people living with MS or Multiple Sclerosis and those recovering, after a stroke. Kaz Aston also, has MS & sadly her mother recently had a stroke, so very important as a stroke occurs around 152 Thousand Times a year that is, one stroke every three minutes and 27 seconds in the UK.
Kaz Aston also shares the #SupercarGB 2017 event was totally amazing especially, when two ladies drove a powerful Audi R8 SuperCar, that continuously gave superb performance times and solid comfort over the dolomites challenging roads.
Also as, team #Gogirl wants to promote female engagement, interest in super cars and to help charity, which for #SuperCarGB was their first time. Additionally, Team #Monarchy Online #gogirl is the first ever female team to enter or drive the full #SuperCarGB route, for 2017 across the challenging Route Dolomites.

So what is #SuperCarGB all about?
The Supercar GB Team brings together bespoke event professionals, within the HNWI (High Net Worth Individual) events industry, in the UK and worldwide. Supercar GB events designed for owners of classic and modern Supercars together with lifestyle companies of insurance, jewellers, air charter, yacht charter, fashion and more.
Peter Mark Andrew Phillips supports his wife Autumn & her colleague Rachael Thomson with a great team to deliver the SupercarGB events. Both Autumn and Peter were so helpful and always made sure we were ok and if I needed any further help because of the MS diagnosis and charity work.
Peter has the Royal connection as he is the first child and only son of Anne, Princess Royal, and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips. Peter is also the eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Phillips holds no royal title or style and is currently 12th in the line of succession to the thrones of the 16 Commonwealth realms.

All of SuperCarGB events participants also get to stay in some of the world’s leading Hotels and for Route Dolomites there was no shortage of fine dining and fantastic hotels. During the 5 days entrants travelled through Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Croatia on our incredible route. Route Dolomites started in Austria at the Schloss Fuschl on the 26th of June followed by an overnight stay and a fun welcome dinner before spending two days/nights in the heart of the Dolomites. On the 4th evening we drove over to the beautiful Villa d'Este  to enable drivers to take in the beautiful scenery. For The 5th day we headed back to a different part of the Dolomites before driving the final day into Croatia.
The choice of the supercar was critical and managed by Karen Aston for sponsors W1 PR as Karen is a driving enthusiast! The route details were not known on booking but, at as it turned out team we  covered over three thousand miles with travel to start & finish destinations. Once the team decided on the potential supercar brand they could enter, an Audi the girls hired an Audi R8 V10 Spyder convertible in a vivid red, from a fantastic super car hire company in Bayswater London.
Consequently, the London Hertz Dream Car team arranged all driving essentials for this amazing vehicle that actually was, the first R8 V10 delivered to the UK. Additionally, hertz ensured all safety features and we also took equipment like breathalysers plus any extra mileage costs that the charity team incurred.
Team #gogirl 2017 comprised of two females members Karen or Kaz Aston Monarchyonline.org CEO also driving to raise awareness about #MS (Multiple Sclerosis) as she has lived with a #MS or Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis for over 30 years. Kaz’s amazing team mate being HRH Princess Katarina of Serbia who is dedicated to supporting charity and education for children and adults globally.
As the only, all girls team entered, the #monarchyonline.org team decided to prepare for the charity event and drive over from London in the UK to the starting point of the 2017 Supercar GB to prepare for the next 5 days. As found out later, was also were the only team to drive to the start line and not take a flight.
During the amazing 5 days we travelled through Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Croatia plus for Monarchy Online Team also France and the United Kingdom on our incredible route of Three and a half Thousand Miles!
Team #gogirl supports #Monarchy Online so are very proud to share that we successfully completed the full #supercar GB Route Dolomites and did not get any speeding tickets, penalties fines and both got back to work on time.

If you would like to support MS community work or even have a supercar event for people affected by Multiple Sclerosis please just contact Karen Aston. Perhaps, you might like to arrange other car events to partner, for 2018.
Also, if you want to understand more about MS then check out the free really clear guide to MS Kaz has written http://www.kazaston.com/The_Really_Clear_Guide

Rotary Royal Windsor Jaguar Festival 2017

It was an absolute delight to attend the wonderful 2017 Royal Windsor & Eton club Jaguar Festival arranged by the Rotary club team.

Over 2,000 Jaguar cars joined the colourful parade on the high street of the historic town of Windsor in Berkshire, UK passing by the Guild Hall where superb commentary was shared by Jaguar teams.
As I am a member of Rotary I am able to attend any club in the world so of course I also attended the Welcome Buffet at the Castle Hotel with hundreds of Jaguar owners, businesses & the Rotary club team. I was also very fortunate to sit next to the Major of Eton so was able to network and share more info about my work with W1PR and Rotary International as an Image team member covering the UK.
On the Saturday Morning the Windsor & Eton Rotary club met to manage event duties together with the local council and police. I had a very important job collecting entrance charges & making sure visitors were met and advised accordingly about the event.
The whole event was managed beautifully and also gave me and all the guests a unique experience to see and even sit in some of the most treasured Jaguar cars in the world.
My special thanks to the members of the Windsor & Eton Rotary club that where so very very kind and helpful in every way I could ever image and so definitely worth a visit if you are looking to learn more about Rotary in the Royal county of Berkshire.

The #Probate debate & latest news.

On the 2nd of March 2017 I read the following headlines about: Probate
Worth a read......

•Probate fees set to rise by up to 93 times their current level for families
•Fees would reach £20,000 for the most valuable estates, constituting a stealth tax on death
•Families face having to pay these bills upfront in order to gain access to their inheritance

The Government’s decision to increase probate fees from £215, or £155 if families are using a solicitor, to a tiered system based on the value of the estate is patently unfair for many families according to Kings Court Trust, one of the UK’s largest estate administration specialists.

While those inheriting estates worth less than £50,000 will no longer pay for probate, all other estates will be subject to increased fees in line with the value of the estate in question. For example, the fees associated with an estate valued at £150,000 will increase by 40% to £300, while a family inheriting an estate worth £500,000 would need to find £4,000 to cover the cost of probate. The fees increase dramatically on a sliding scale, up to a maximum of £20,000 for the wealthiest estates.

Interesting....
